Where Creative Marketing Translates Into Value

PepsiCo needed to respond to consumers rising concern about obesity. So they decided to launch a packaging symbol indicating that key products such as Tropicana, Aquafina, Gatorade, and Baked! Lays were healthier than others in the market. To do this, though, they needed to win the consensus, and budget commitment, of all six brands involved in the initiative. With the help of Fleishman-Hillard's innovative strategies, the company won stakeholder support, the launch took only three months, and the products grew at three times the rate of other PepsiCo "fun-for-you" products.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car asked Fleishman-Hillard to help brainstorm ideas and themes to help honor its 50th anniversary. Through brainstorming sessions, our Innovation Team came up with a great idea. Enterprise would donate an unprecedented gift to The National Arbor Day Foundation: It would underwrite the planting of 50 million trees over the next 50 years at a total cost of $50 million in today's dollars. The gift would keep on giving with every new planting and every new publicity opportunity for Enterprise. First lady Laura Bush was onhand to celebrate the historic gift.
